For sure. Last year was golden because of that. Minimal tracks in the Dumps and other gems at 10-11am...

Just wait until they pull out 1A for two years. It will be a fricken ghost town on that side.

Heroes is a work in progress, that will continue to improve.

    Having a party Saturday night!
    PM for an invite.

I’d almost always rather go Face of Bell>#6>Dumps/Silver Queen first thing on a powder day.
    Hard to argue with this.

THE Aspen/Snowmass / Greater Roaring Fork Valley 23-24 Thread

    John. Gaston. !!

Another 2nd at Leadville 100. He took it out hard early, got caught by Keegan and eventually Cole, but held on to take 2nd. Super impressive last race for him before he starts is 2026 SkiMo build.

It's just the name of a chairlift. You can still call that zone whatever you want with your friends.

Yeah, I love Kristi’s/Walsh’s with the longer run and the Hero’s lift is so fast and efficient.

1A being gone is going to be interesting for sure. Will they just not groom anything below Ruthie’s?

Can you ski 7 tower road back to the gondola?

They'll still groom Lower Roche, Summer Road and Strawpile everyday. I'd imagine everything below lower Summer Road will be closed.

Hopefully they groom the Goat Road frequently and run Bell Chair.

Skiing a grand slam, Super 8, Henry's, Corkscrew and Corkscrew Gully takes about an hour now.
It will be 2-3 hours after they pull the lift.

Most people that voted for Gorsuch Haus, did so, to lower the lift to Dean Street. But it will shorten its season by weeks and possibly months in lean years.
They're not allowed to bring the snowmaking below its current level.
It's a struggle to open by Christmas and keep it open through out the season now.

They need a mid station on the new 1a that they can run early and late.

My wife is doing the Aspen to CB and back hike this coming weekend and looking for a place to leave the car. I thought you could park at the intercept lot for free but it appear you can't leave the car there overnight. Where would one leave a car for a few days, hopefully for free? TIA

Buttermilk is fine for that. Most enforcement is near nil.

She's leaving early Friday am so that won't work unfortunately. She is planning on leaving her car at the Brush Creek lot I guess. Any issues with overnight parking there from Friday am until Saturday evening?

That will be fine at Brush Creek. They won't be patrolling enough to notice/do anything about a car that's parked their for ~36 hours. Same with Buttermilk. Neither really have oversight unless you're camping/living there for the longer term.

Pay 8 bucks to park for the day on Friday, after that no enforcement until 10am on Monday. Also doesn't have to be in the West End, can be in any residential zone A through D.

Rocky and I toured a couple of shrines today.

They are adding a new Blue Fun trail, connecting Lower Vapor to Squeezey.

Wow, those shrines aren't close to each other so you are really getting out there!

Last pic. Someone is going to hit that tree on the right. Hard.

THE Aspen/Snowmass / Greater Roaring Fork Valley 23-24 Thread

Nice! The rain shut down the pike park trip today for me and kiddo. Hopefully we get to ride it next weekend before closing.

Wish they could develop more trails somewhere…like off alpine springs, two creeks riders right of elk
    Camp or something.

i give SkiCo shit for a myriad of conflicting things they do, but them plunking down their own money on a serious trail system expansion over the last decade hasn't been one of them.
